sorry another competition name thread, but my imagination is failing again!! im sure you wonderful people can help me out

my sister would like a competition name for her 4 yr old, her stable name is Tia, she also gets called TT

she's a big (nearly 17hh) dark bay TB mare, she's got attitude!!! although im sure she's loving underneath it all.... somewhere!!! (im not the horses biggest fan! its tried to kick me a few too many times!!!!)

her sire is WHERE OR WHEN and the dam is UNKNOWN

so far all ive come up with is:

1) 'here and now' so not keen on this!!
2) 'black russian' its a tia maria cocktail and shes an extremely dark bay!!
3) tia maria!

as you can tell my imagination is useless!!!

so can anyone help???? it doesnt have to have anything to do with her stable name or her sire's name but it does have to sound dressagey apprently!!!!!! (sister's words not mine!!!)

milky bar buttons for all who can help

this is the only pic i have of her!! she has no white on her apart from the tiny weeny hairs on her forehead!

the horse was brought unnamed out of racing so her passport is blank!!

ive had a look at her sire's pedigree and her grandad was DANEHILL DANCER, so my sister would like to incorporate DANCER into it somehow!!

her great great great great grandad was called HIS MAJESTY so ive come up with ROYAL DANCER..... what do you think????

any good???

:)

Beaute Noire (Black Beauty) and I think there should be an accent sloping up to the right on the last e of Beaute. More fluent French speakers can correct me.

Esprit Libre (free spirit)
Danseur (Dancer)

When you've chosen a name, go and search the Competion results for horses, so you can see whether anyone is already using the name.
If they are you may need to put a number or count on the end (eg III, XI etc) or think of something else

Odile - the black swan from Swan Lake. Though I expect it's been done a dozen times over.
Or Violetta Valéry who's the tart from La Traviata and for some reason springs to mind when I look at the photo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (sorry!)

She can only have a very basic wetherbys id passport.
I am surprised you bought her out of racing as she could never have raced under rules with that passport.

You will also need to register her name with Weatherby's which is very expensive so make sure that the name is not duplicated on BD when you choose it as changing a name on Weatherby's is uber difficult and very expensive!

You could make up your own prefix by merging 2 names.... i.e. if your name was Janet Tassel, you could have JANTAS as a prefix...

Then you could have:

Jantas Tia Maria
Jantas Fantasia
Jantas Mystique
Jantas Envy

Etc, etc.........

My niece and nephew are Holly and William - so I named one of my horses' HOLLIWILL Magic.

as she's has a little white star, - '-dancing starr' or danse etoile (in french)

'dark rendezvous'

where and when but what time? - 'time to dance'

'dance time'

'starr steps'
'
'starr dancer'

'dark dancer'

hope she wins something after all this!!! good luck

I really like the french names, but I also really like italian names for horses! I've google translated these though so make sure if you use a french/italian name to check with someone who speaks the language.

These are some of the others people posted, but in italian, as well as some I thought of

bellissima ballerina - beautiful dancer
mezzanotte bellezza - midnight beauty
ballerino classico - ballet dancer
bellissimo cavallo - beautiful horse
bel cavallino - pretty pony

when i say out of racing she was bred for racing but never made it out of the stud she was foaled at, was due to be put down just before we got her. so yes its is basically a weatherbys ID passport nothing more

some of these names are very good!! i will run them all past my sister and see what she thinks thanks guys!

Probably a more accurate translation would be Étoile Dansante as opposed to Danse Étoile which translates as Dance Star. :)

Other suggestions might be:

Quand Elle Danse (Fr - When she dances)

Midi á Minuit (Fr - midday to midnight)

Toujours Dansante (Fr - Always Dancing)

Jamais Sans Danser (Fr - Never Without Dancing)

hummm... I'm all out of ideas at the moment. Work calls but I hope your sister finds something she likes :).
