Would any yard owners/managers be kind enough to forward me a copy of an eviction notice to liveries.
I have writers block and would like it to sound as professional as possible, but I find my fingers start running away with me and before I know it I've given them an earful of what I think 🙈

Many thanks :)

I'm not a yard owner but how about something along the lines of:

Dear Livery,

As you are aware, one of the terms of our contract is [insert rule breached here]. You have unfortunately failed to observe this on [x] occasions and therefore I regret to inform you that I hereby give you [x] week's notice to leave the yard from the date of this letter.

Under the terms of the contract you are required to pay [extras etc] before leaving the yard, and I will provide you with an itemised bill on [date]. [Insert any other requirements that are in the contract about leaving.] Until then services and facilities will be provided as normal.

I wish you and your horses all the best on your new yard.

Yours sincerely,

Dear *****

As of April 1st (give months notice or whatever you have to) we regret we will no longer have the facilities to board your horse/s here, please make alternate arrangements for his/their accommodation before, or by April 1st, 2015.

Yours blah, blah

As YO you have absolutely NO need to justify your decision. I never did.
Just give a reasonable length of notice, because I gave them notice I would refund board pro-rata, and if they asked for extra time I would charge them daily rates of $20 a day, that usually got them out fairly fast ;)

Do NOT tell them what you think, even if you have to chew your arm off, they will flounce off and bad-mouth you, word of mouth is more powerful then any advertisement. There is nothing to stop you just mentioning, quietly, to other yard owners why you let them go though ... ;)

I wouldnt detail in a notice letter why you are giving them notice. Just make it short and to the point such as Enfys example then they cant argue about what reasons you have given in your letter. If they ask you face to face you can explain but dont write it in notice letter.
