dragging toe

hello, just wondering if any one has any ideas on what could be wrong with my 2 an a half year old filly, when she gets brought out of her stable on a morning she slightly scuffs the toe of both her hind hoofs, she does this for the first few mins of walking then stops, when i bring her in on a night she is fine. had a vet out an he said he didnt know what it was as she wasnt doing it when he came and she was sound. he told me to just keep an eye on her but im still slightly worried. she has not started any work yet . any ideas would be appriciated, thank u

don't quote me on this but my gelding started to do this (but he is 11) and it turnout out to be a problem with his hocks. it may just be that she is being lazy or stiff but good luck in finding out what is wrong with her

In a 2 1/2 yr old I'd worry about OCD and would want hocks and stifles looked at by a competent equine vet. Toe dragging should be a big red flag.

thank u , think im gonna have to get another vet out to check her , the vet that came out did flexion tests an they were fine but he didnt give me much confidence when he said he didnt know what it was

thank u ! will be getting a different vet out this week i think to get them to check her out! they are such a worry! hope she will be ok

My lad does this and he has DJD in both hocks, fingers crossed your girl doesn't have this.
