Has anybody used these and what did you think of them? Also, are they legal for british dressage? I've looked through the rules book but can't find anything mentioning them

Never used them so no opinion but they will not be dressage legal, even if not specifically mentioned, they are sold as a training aid and will not be considered to be "using a bridle in the conventionally accepted manner" rule 58 which covers anything that it not specified elsewhere.

No - they will definitely NOT be legal for dressage.

They are a training aid and to be honest I cannot see why they would work - as rein aids would be very confusing for the horse as pressure on one will create pressure on the other

Never heard of them before, but I'd be worried of the strength of the clips. We've all had those sort of clips break without too much pressure on them! And your supposed to be controlling a horse with something that could break with minimal effort! What if you were out cantering or jumping!?

Its a piece of leather which has 2 clips on the ends. You clip it onto the bit, then clip the reins onto the bottom of the clip. Its meant to help keep the bit still in the horses mouth, ie if you move your hands too much. I've never used one. Infact its just one of those nuggets of imformation which springs from the back of the brain moments. I cant remember how i know it??

SatsumaGirl, thanks for the link, have never heard of these. Weird looking piece of kit, can't see how they are supposed to stabilise the bit in the horse's mouth.

OP, if you are looking for a dressage legal way of stabilising the bit then consider a Micklem bridle. They are legal as long as you don't use the optional bit clips, and do help a lot of horses.

I'd never heard of them either - was beginning to think I was an uneducated fool. ;) Good to know it's not just me they've slipped past unnoticed.

I've seen some pretty good reviews on them and sound like they'd suit my mare. She is strong and as I have to ride in a snaffle bit in dressage, which she ignores, I'm looking for something that will help me with abit more control when schooling.
