Dragons Den: What horsey "gadget" would YOU invent?

Sorry just feeling a bit flippant. But seriously, what horsey gadget would YOU invent? Is there anything that you are just dying for someone to come up with a solution/fix for? Is there a bane of your horsey life that you just wish that someone could "fix it" for you?

OK so I'll kick off. My list might be:

A radio-tag on my hoof pick so I know EXACTLY where the blimmin thing is, ditto with the knife I use for cutting the hay, gawd knows how many I've lost through the years.

A sensible water-proof saddle cover that when its tipping down with rain, I can just slip on and keep my nice leather saddle dry. It would have to look decent and not slip.

Something in the winter to keep, er um, one's extremities warm. Something like a warm-pack or something, with perhaps a solar cell you could put on your hat? So that its always charged up and kept warm. (Solar-powered knickers???!!!). Yah definately!

Something someone could invent which would do plaiting - instantly! And untie them all again afterwards. Ditto with tail.

A super-duper machine which you just bung in all the tack, saddle included, and it would clean it!!!

A mucking-out machine where you just press the button, and it does the job for you. Bliss!

A horse shampooing machine, a bit like a vacuum cleaner perhaps, where you just backpack it maybe and give horsey a lovely shampoo, set and dry afterwards! (Dunno that my boy would be impressed by that tho') - but at least something where I don't end up wetter than the horse would be nice.

This'll do for a start - any more ideas out there? Come on you inventors/entreprenuers.
 
Wow! You've really been thinking about this haven't you!:p

I thought the other day that I need a numnah with a little press-studded pocket in it for my mobile phone, as that tidgy little pocket on the inside of my jods is no good and my phone just digs into my fat bits!:o I sometimes put my phone in the gap at the front of my saddle:o but then struggle to get it out as it ends up near the back of the saddle but underneath it!!:rolleyes:
 
A field poo picker that actually works

Something to prevent horses getting muddy in the winter, and preferably something that does not involve removing a wet muddy rug and covering yourself in the mud!

Something to stop mud in the field in the first place

Something to make stuffing haylage from big round bales into small nets a lot easier!

Something to stop rugs and tack from being chewed by mice/rats without costing the earth.
 
Something that sends radio signals to my horse's brain telling her that the painted lines on the road AREN'T snakes and that monsters DON'T live in drains. Oh, and that pigeons can't hurt her, even when they do fly out of trees.
 
I want a giant version of those teddy bear grabbing machines that you get in amusement arcades that can pluck your horse out of the middle of the field and carry it over the knee-deep mud at the gate - so it comes in with clean legs in winter!

I'd also like the horses to walk through one of those giant drying rooms on the way into their stables(that you get a posh swimming pools and gyms) - so their rugs are dry when they come in.

When I worked with horses in Italy years ago, the back wall of the stables had a flap in it, and the muck heap was behind that wall, so you just chucked all the muck through the flap - so there was no wheel barrow needed, and the yard didn't get half as dirty, so was easy to sweep..
 
A hoverbarrow. Like a hovermower but it's a barrow. And it flies. Amazing!

A self-propelled intelligent ragfork.

A babelfish-type device to enable to me understand horse (although I have a feeling that my horse would do nothing but swear at me so perhaps not).
 
Chickeninabun - how about a mobile phone holder that you put round your arm? They are only about £4 and I've had 2 in about 6 years and never had an issue with them.

I love the hoverbarrow idea and the poo flap at the back of the stable - I wonder if my YO would let me put on in??!
 
Once heard of a yard where there was a conveyor belt running behind the stables which took the muck straight from stable to heap. What bliss.
OH informs me that designing a machine to muck out is not so difficult, unfortunately he doesn't have time to design and market it.
I'd love a groom hoover that would clean off muddy horses and suction winter coats off.
I'd also love a midge repeller that actually works.
Oh.. and how about a sensored run that calculates exactly how lame your horse is and on which feet ?
 
A rain -x type barrier to repel mud :p

sliding gates, - like sliding doors. SO you dont have to do the akward swinging round, and being so careful not to catch the horse on the bolt!

I would invent something that fills haynets for you and a poo picking robot :)

definitely liking the tack cleaning, and something to get the wet muddy rugs and take them to the drying room meaning im not covered head to toe in mud :D

A few years ago, a man was actually on Dragons Den with a Riding Crop with a mirror on the top, and he said that it would be used by riders on the road, to look behind them without having to turn round.

Well... The lady dragon (can't remember her name), totally slammed this, (She has horses aparantly), and she said that it would be dangerous and ridculous. Dangerous because the mirror, wobbling around was likely to catch and reflect the sunlight into the horses eyes and make it spook, and also because the mirror was glass. She said she thought it was ridiculous because most riders have necks which we can turn, and look round oursleves to see if a car is behind us! She was OUT

I agreed with the Lady Dragon on this one. LOL
 
A spray that gives my horse an invisible shield, that mud just slips of.

Also something that would stop my horse if i came off, i have to ride on the roads and nearly came off on a busy road, and it got me thinking, if i did come off, my mare would run off and probably kill herself or cause an accident.

Mmmm - but if you fall off and your horse buggers off home, your mobile phone has gone with him and you won't be able to call anyone to help you or to catch your horse when he gets home alone! You can get a little mobile pocket on a strap to go round your arm or thigh.
 
A wheel barrow that moves its self sounds ace,,but then program it to follow and park its self under horses tail,while poo dropping into wheel barrow,,,,,we can sit in warm watching with hot choc or wine for the alcoholic's amongst us !!!:eek::eek::eek::eek:

Robot to do all the jobs on yard ..call it robosweep robogroom robo-doti
