If I rig up a contraption that goes from the bit and attaches to the roller between the legs and is slightly elasticated, how does that differ from the dr method? Does running the rein up past the shoulders, over the back and down the other side etc, really make a huge difference and how/why? Just trying to get my head around it:rolleyes:

That will differ because the rein will be fixed whereas with the draw rein method - it is a continuous free running rein allowing full neck bend with no restriction etc. What you describe sounds like a Harbridge.
Kerilli did a vid using the draw rein method - maybe PM her for a link. It's simple cheap and effective.

I saw the threads the other day, so will pop and have a look at the pictures again, what I did was insert a piece of tight material to give elasticity and lots of 'give' but to be honest he was such a twonk that day and full of beans it was hard to get any sense out of him:rolleyes: I will have to get some new dr's as the dogs chewed mine:o
