On my walk this morning, large Rhodesian Ridgeback dog ran length of the field and proceeded to s""g ( for want of a better word) an old arthritic MALE labrador. Labs owner tried to remove RR with no luck, lab very distressed and collapsed. Ridgebacks owner finally caught up with her dog, Labs owner distraught and did swear so RR owner took umbrage at this. This isnt the first time dog has done this to the lab, and labs owner took pic of dog and owner, owner striking a pose and saying go on film me. No apology, walks off with dog on lead and about 50 yards away lets dog off again which promptly ran back to the lab for another go. This woman really has little control over this dog it is a perfect nuisance most mornings. Lab owner has apparently reported this dog to the police but as its not vicious I dont suppose they will do anything, at least the owner should be spoken to I feel.

I've been told twice in the last month, in two different areas, by people who I explained to that I was partially sighted and wasn't happy with their loose dogs running at me and jumping up, that I should walk somewhere else.

They bring dog owners into disrepute, these brainless idiots.

Yet would be the first to complain about anyone sticking the boot in. My friend had the same issue when a bouncy over friendly lab came bounding over to her with the pram and her elderly lurcher who was on the lead. The lurcher was arthritic and when the stupid thing bounced on her back she rightly so snapped at it and gave it a good whatfor - que the FB posts of "omg my lab was just attacked by an out of control dog on our walk when he went over to say hello, its no wonder the owner had it on a lead it shouldnt be out in public! i know where they live im going to send the police!" My friend was in a right state over it and had to send her dog to her mums for a few days cause she was afraid of the warden coming and taking her. I was bloody furious.

How annoying. I walk sometimes where many of us carefully let our dogs off lead. I turn and go the other way if I see another person with dogs. My dogs are very used to this routine and the only time I have trouble is when other dogs run up on us. I make sure my dogs are close enough that I have no trouble calling them back. Once we we were jumped by 2 goldens that had taken off on their owner. Today I heard a man calling his dog, I think it was a pointer/hound cross, when the dog ran up to mine. I had managed to Freddie on lead before the dog ran up. I had told Rudy to sit which worked up until the dog jumped on him. No harm, no foul and the man apologized and leashed his dog until we got past. If someone's dog attacked mine it would not end well for the other dog. I am not playing with that.

I would give the RR such a wallop it wouldn't come near me or my dog again.

Out shooting this week there was a WHP x labrador dog. It is a complete PITA. As T doesn't have a tail and is completely non aggressive she just can't save herself from it. I may have nudged it with my welly a couple of times.
Now Penny never has to put up with rude behaviour, she is small but mighty.

It would not go well for any dog approaching Zak. He is a beserker, proper red mist, hence we keep him hugely in check and away from other dogs. My worst fear is another equally aggressive dog approaching.
