Bad things always come in threes don't they?
10 days ago, Arch had a tooth out (it was broken so at least not an age related problem).
Friday, he came in lame and with a really warm hoof. I've been poulticing all weekend and he's less lame but no sign of pus. My farrier came this morning and found a puncture wound in his sole. He's made it a bit bigger and there is gunk draining out and even within 5 minutes of that, he was looking a lot sounder so hopefully he's on the road to recovery now but I'm dreading the third thing - not to mention poulticing for the rest of the week. Arch is a total drama queen so the first minute of any job is spent with him waving his leg around until he gets over himself and behaves. My back is aching already from all the bending over and hanging on to a flailing leg.
The only good thing is that so far, both things have been quite straightforward, He's not showing any signs of problems from the tooth (final check up tomorrow) and we have at least found the problem in is foot.
