Sadly the time has come to say goodbye to are old girl who is 38yo and we have had her for over 20 years. I have said goodbye to dear horses before but that was because they where ill and being PTS was the best thing, But Dreamer is not looking herself and has not for a long time its like she is a shell I know in my hearts f hearts we are doing the best thing for her, But it still does not stop it hurting so much my sister is going to be a mess. Can not wait for today to be over this week infacted. Sorry for going on this day is going to be so hard on all the family just need to let it all out.

Hugs to you and your family. I said goodbye to my old boy in March, he was 30 and we had him from 4. It was a tough day and I felt so tired afterwards but I did feel a sense of release and it was definately the right thing. Thinking of you today.
 
Best of luck today it's always heartbreaking but how lucky is your horse that she has such responsible and brave owners who do the best for her hugs today xx

oh this hits home to me at the moment and its trying to do the right thing at the right time without the horse getting uncomfortable and leaving it too late. It is the right thing to do and being realistic is so important.

Just make a big fuss and tons of the best treats that you can offer , say your good byes and it will be done. Will be thinking of you all todayx.
 
I am so sorry. You are doing the one last final thing we can do for them, I know it's heartbreaking, and I really feel for you. But what a grand age that is for any horse to reach. My thoughts are with you, and though it hurts so much to say goodbye, just remember she will not be gone completely. She will live on in your head and your heart, and will always be there. Plenty of us on here have been through it, and we are with you in spirit, you are not alone at this awful time. I hope all goes well for you big ((hugs)) x
 
Im really sorry sending loads of hugs xxx I lost my boy 3 weeks ago he was only 9 but his joints were too bad for him to have quality of life and be pain free. its not easy i felt physically ill and sick for days afterwards. Even now i still cry and cannot eat. The worst part was knowing he was going on a certain day and when the vet arrived my heart sank! Just give her loads of treats make a fuss and when she goes talk to her and make her at ease. Its not easy but you are thinking of her x
 
Horrible, horrible day for you. Hope you can celebrate her great age later and have peace knowing you've done the best for her.

Thinking of you. Awful thing to have to go through but the right thing if she's not herself. 38 is a fantastic age, i'm sure you have lots of happy memories. (((hugs))) x

She is in heaven now with her crew. I will make a post about her later just can not face looking at picture at the moment.

An incredible age and a heartbreaking but dignified and kind thing to do for an old friend. My thoughts are with you and yours.
 
She was an absolute credit to you and she's had 20 years of fab memories with you. You absolutely did the right thing by her and now she can gallop in the clouds forever.
