Dream horse

Hi all,
I was just wondering if you could design your own horse what would you include? If you don't get what I mean here's my example:
17hh
Steady as a rock in every situation.
Has long white mane tail and feathers
Is exceedingly gentle
Does dressage well
doesn't need shoes
Is a real looker and could do well at shows.
Is a palomino

I think most peoples will be different so just wanted to ask. Bit of a fun post really. :)
 
What I have to be honest. He has his quirks but he is beautiful, kind, doesn't have a bad bone in his body and has a great sense of humour. Talented horse that I can't get the best out of but he doesn't care he just likes that someone cares about him now. And let's face it how could you not love this face?

 
Hey I've got that horse.

Well actually I've got two combined that make it :D

He's 17hh. Totally dependable. Won his only two dressage classes first time out with me. Is a show jumper. Is a lovely horse.

He's done everything to a high level is totally dependable in nearly every situation (can buck if you don't go with him over fences!) but is only 14.1.

Between them however my daughter and I are living the (cream) dream :)
 
Ooooh so many!
I'd fancy a Fresian... Extremely well schooled and well mannered. Flashy and showy and bombproof!!

And then...
A 19hh Clydesdale with manners! That could also drives.


Then.....a nice 16hh iron grey, a comfortable ride and a good jumper.

All geldings.

Well if we're allowed to be picky.. !
I'd love a 14.2-15.1
Preferably some sort of Connemara or native cross
Nice and compact with a clever pony brain
Capable of jumping BE90/100 - honest and bold cross country and with a nice forgiving nature too!!
Obviously this unicorn would have ideal manners - ability to perform a solid dressage test would be a bonus too.
And a nice stable stain resistant colour - bay with absolutely no white would be the ideal option!!

Basically - if I could stretch my current pony by a few inches, give him a little bit more scope and dip dye him a sensible colour, I'd be sold!
 
When I was younger I always wanted the black stallion , later on I was thinking quarter horse but I have to say as I've got older I have got to really like heavier sorts and now I have a Clydesdale I'm pretty sure I'm ruined for any other horses now.
 
I'd have my amazing Alice back: Thoroughbred mare, just shy of 16hh, dark bay with a scrumptious orange nose and the prettiest face you've ever seen. A dream to hack and a dream to have around. She was my childhood fantasy come to life, and on the day I met her, I remember feeling like she'd stepped straight out of my imagination.

I am so glad you both have your dream horses! :)
 
14.3-15.2, grey of any shade, mare with perfect manners and unflappable nature, forward going but safe, hacks alone and trainable. Able to take me hunting but jumping/dressage ability really irrelevant.

Basically my current pony but a couple of decades younger bless her! Does anyone have the water of youth for her?

Who is Ted?
 
I've always said Alfie is perfect for me, if only he came in a package that was smaller (He's 18.1hh) and if he loaded well, and if he didn't have white on his hocks, and if he had a white patch on him that was high enough/big enough to make him eligible for coloured classes....

But the things I really am non-negotiable on are temperament: bombproof to hack, not kick along - must go forwards, willing to pop a fence and happy to be ridden by total numpties. Must be easy to handle on the ground: no biters or kickers. Anything else is just a bonus!
 
16hh chestnut mare, 3/4 ID x 1/4 TB, plenty of bone, and the more white the better.

Good to hack alone and in company, happy to turn her hoof to a bit of low-level everything, affectionate sort.

And, after dealing with my current share horse - good to catch! Oh, and easy to fit a saddle to.
 
16.1 ISH or WB or a WB/TBH cross or a TB
Perfect conformation a bay .
Must move beautifully and know how to jump and naturally very bold
Have an easy mouth and love being trained and be eager to work in the school and lively to hack out must hunt calmly stand while I talk go were I want when I want and stand while I scramble on while everybody gallops off .
It would of course be easy to fit a saddle to and never need the vet .
Good to turnout alone and with company and in traffic and perfect for all day to day stuff .
It would of course have perfect feet with concave soles and strong heels no matter how long it wore shoes .
That would do it .

But AA's Ted or Auslander's? Or both?
 
A light dapple grey-must be a MARE!
I am now a total TB convert so another would do me fine.
Capable of eventing up to Novice level but also with movement good enough for pure dressage. Preferably with a pink nose.
No bigger than 16.1hh... Exceedingly beautiful! Dished face, big brown eyes.

Wait, I think I'm describing a younger, slightly flashier version of my unicorn :o
She has turned me into a total mare and TB convert... I adore her and wish I could have another lifetime with her

Something I could ride!!
I love my two to bits but they are both broken, I've not ridden now for 7+ years, One is 21 this year and then I have her son who is 10 this year and I've never even sat on him, he had a field accident and had to be retired before he even started.
I sold my ex racehorse, ready to start my youngster but never got that far.
My 21 year old was retired at 7 due to injury, she was the most amazing horse to ride but unfortunately that was not to be.

So my dream horses I have but my dream would be to ride them.
 
Nothing fancy for me!

15.3 bay mare with a mealy muzzle
Small hunter type with a bit of bone but not a chunky cob
Maybe a bit of Cleveland Bay in there
Barefoot with good hooves
Happy to hack alone and in company, school and pop a wee jump
Good to load and travel to the odd local show or clinic
Good with kids, dogs, farm machinery, vet
Happy to live out the majority of the time but be stabled in the worst of the weather
 
I have the perfect horse, unfortunately it's spread across two horses.
Perfect in traffic, nice forward hack, enough of a spark to be fun, loving and cwtchy (Archie)
Takes everything in his stride, never gets in a state, happy in front or behind, willing to give anything a go, eager to please and just the easiest horse to deal with. 100% reliable jumping - does the job and goes back to sleep (Monty).

The only things I don't like about either of them are the fact they're both grey and the fact they're both 21 and the issues that go with that.
 
16.2hh dapple grey gelding that will always stay dappled. And never ever rolls. Will stand rock still unless asked otherwise but will take me of a 4ft hedge without batting an eyelid. Loads themselves onto absolutely anything
Poops into an allocated bucket would also be advantageous 😂 And never ages.
What a dream that is!
Also want to add he costs £1 to purchase!

My favourite book ever. And this edition too! Yes, loved Shantih, but having a bit of a Shantih myself in years gone by, I always had a soft spot for those rock steady stalwart Highlands Bramble and Punch and whatever Sue's horse was called! :) :) :)
 
16hh maxi-cob type, traditional Irish Draught. Permanently dapple grey. Non-spooky sort. Great in all traffic and game to try anything, including being driven. 110% reliable and always sound. Not prone to lami and to live out 24/7 without getting fat in summer. Oh...and cuddly and affectionate and always looking for a new adventure. Yup. That about does it.
 
Good old-fashioned ladies' hunter - either a 15.2hh small or a 16hh lightweight, with a good slug of TB blood and the rest mostly either CB or ID. Preferably a mare, but I don't mind geldings.

Mannerly, workmanlike and sane; to carry a side-saddle out hunting one or two half-days a week in the season over small-to-middling country, and happy to have a go at all my various silly adventures over the summer.

Colour-wise, either seal brown, dark dappled bay, liver chestnut, or roan. As few white markings as possible - maximum of a narrow stripe and one white foot.

Absolutely must have a full set of good, low, swinging paces that cover the ground, with neat legs, good shoulder, and text-book feet.
 
If my current mare was a hand or 2 bigger and jogged instead of walking and was all grey she would be perfect or if my anglo was a mare and chestnut with blaze and socks and a little thicker set he would also be perfect, basically I just like really forward going but bombproof mares in chestnut or grey

Mr B is becoming my dream horse, with every little improvement I make in my riding, he just gets better and better. Amazing!

My current horse but in a slightly sportier body. Still a cob but I'd give him a slightly narrower barrel, better neck and shoulder, jumping ability and surefootedness. More black and less white (he's piebald). Plus add the ability to always stay at a perfect weight, rather than getting fat at the sight of grass.
