Dress/turnout for lessons

We are always polished and preened :)

Wouldn't plait for a lesson, but do plait for clinics.

Haha I wouldn't expect anything less of the dressage divas, you have an image to uphold you know :-)

For me, it's clean and tidy, grey horse so will have the odd patch sadly. Matchy set for flatwork as I've recently got into that. For clinics off the yard then he would get a better clean to attack those poo patches but he's on a grooming livery so he's generally looking ok. Cant plait wont plait !

I have regular lessons with 2x trainers - I try to be respectfully clean and tidy for both, but must admit to making more of an effort for dressage trainer!!

Eventer trainer is much more easy going so I know he's not fussed if there are shavings stuck in B's tail!

I would never plait for a lesson - however, B's tail is forever plaited down to try and keep it clean :) gets taken out and brushed sometimes :D

I don't pay my trainers to comment on my or my horse's turnout I pay them to train me, their personal preferences are their business but I do expect them to look clean and tidy, it's a sign of them being professional. I also wear a bit of makeup when I go to lessons, I also wear it when I go to the supermarket too or indeed when I take stuff to the tip! I wear it because I'm past the age when my natural fresh faced look has faded and actually I like to look as good as I can, for me. It would be totally lost on my trainers anyway as they are either straight females or gay men! I also expect them to be on time and I make sure I'm on time, it's called good manners.
I get the feeling instructors aren't that impressed by a fancy turnout. I have been praised by one guy simply because i haven't bought everything in pink for my horse. He hates it when people do that it seems.

I have also seen women put make up on for a lesson with my show jumping coach. I usually turn up covered in mud because i know the guy does not care how you look for a lesson. Hell he helped me tack up my horse once and told me off for taking longer by grooming the horse. I told him off as i needed to remove mud from the horse ha ha. To be fair he was clean i was just checking out of habit.
