Remember though.. a lot of the ones that have a bad attitude only have one because they are used for breeding... It takes a very special horse to cover and maintain a good temperment.. They would ALL be lovely if they where gelded probably..
Also temprement can be to do with a horses up bringing and surroundings... when Merlin came back from stud you would think he was a loon.,. but this year hes been covering here, and he is very much more laid back, AND he is still competing..
I agree with P_G. Especially given that the expression and elevation required from GP dressage tends to predispose those with a certain amount of attitude and spark to being good. Its not often you get top level dressage horses that are lazy (at least in my experience)
Have you ever seen him move? Not really my cup of tea, others might like him tho. Ive got the Blu Hors DVD and tbh i was really keen on Blu Hors Romanov - but watching the DVD there was nothing that really grabbed me about any of them.
Just looked at Romanov's lines and noticed Rubinstein.
There was a horse for sale on mmmmmmmmmmmmm a site that i *think* you looked at a horse from before you got archie? And i cant remember its name for the life of me. Im sure you know her but im having a mental block.
He was Rubinstein lines also and i loved him. Perhaps im attracted to them

Couldn't agree enough. After working on a well known stud farm i can understand why some stallions come across like monsters! Its not an easy life at all for them.
I haven't got any confirmation worries so as long as the stallion is generally good temperament wise we should be ok!
oooooo nice! I tried out Sir Jeffry, we put in an offer on him, she went on holiday, came back and she'd sold him. However id also already brought Archie by then as there were a couple of problems with him that needed sorting. Im glad i got Archie over him tho!
Its not good is it? A couple of months back someone was selling another trakehner by Holme Grove Prokofiev, it was stunning and i was about to get a loan out and then suddenly i thought "what an idiot, what the hell am i doing?". At the time i was having to jump start my old banger every morning, maybe it was a car i needed more than another horse!!!
I have a Krack C 5 yr old - I suppose she does have quite a short neck, but she has a short everything else too, which is the only reason I could afford her!
i often wonder why i have two horses and another on the way when i can hardly afford to look after myself for the month!! The horses are better looked after than i am
Its madness! I know the feeling, my outgoings for the horse are ridiculous and i only have one at the moment! Thats my main reason for going to France so i can afford her plus others more easily. She has a massive set of rugs and yet i wear clothes til they are frayed and so last season!!!
my mare has a loving temp but so has Derek - so 'baby' now 2 is doubly cuddly
Gill had Derek at Quainton atm so more central to see him. Just waiting for my mare to get a bit more competition form and then she'll return to Derek for another go at getting a palomino filly (only got a 25% chance as she's bay but...)
Might be from one of the factory producing horse countries, but he stayed fit & well. He is my colt's grnd Sire. Oh & Painted Black is on the stallion list, along with some others.
Have you had a look at Loxley - Marston stud - Westphalian, Oldenburg and BWBS.
He has a good temperament good bone and versatile, blood lines are really good - there is not always the need to import semen from europe there are some really quality ones here
