Took both the boys to Keysoe to try some stressage, It was Comets first visit to a 'posh' venue and Jaspers first competition with Bee.
Prelim 7,
Comet needed a fair bit of settling as there was lots to look at and scary PA system, he settled well and came 3rd on 62%
Jasper was tense (well Bee really) as she has only had him 2 weeks and wasn't sure how he would react, he did an OK test, nothing stunning and was unplaced.
Prelim 10
Comet was doing a lovely test but decided that stressage was boring and that he needed to show the judge just how athletic he could be by bucking his way through his canter! Needless to say was unplaced!
Jasper was lovely, much softer and a real superstar. There were 3 arenas on a huge outdoor surface and he was in the middle one. All through his test the 2 horses in the arenas either side were really bad, broncing and bouncing. At one point I thought a black horse was going to join Jasper in his arena. Both Bee and him kept there cool to gain 65% and finish 6th. Very pleased with his first outing.
Both boys travelled well and stood quietly on the lorry when not needed.
http://www.horsepower-photography.com will have the photos when they are done.
You will have to go to The College and look for prelim 7 and 10, competitor 35 (Rikabi Comet) and 36 (Gaspard Nocturne)
