Dressage and Showjumping Today

Today I took Ren to do some Dressage and Showjumping. Woke up this morning to horrible rain

But we still went

The rain was lashing down when we arrived, got tacked up in the lorry and off we went.
We did Premlim 14 in the pi--ing rain

and we got 62.5%

Wish it was in the 70's but hey we did very well, plus it was my first dressage comp on him, so very pleased.
We got quite a few 6's and 7's apart from the end which was turn down the centre line in trot, halt. Immobility. Salute. I forgot to Salute

I was so pleased that I had finished I just ended and left!!! so we got a 5!
Out Overall comment was, Lovely horse, who wants to please

So that was a nice comment.
Things we need to work on are, Engagement of he hind quarters and lightnedd of the forehand.. But I can work on that

Then onto the Showjumping the rain had died off a little, but still lashing down!
We were the first to go in - the course was up to height and most of the fences were top max at 3ft3.. We did a smashing clear.

So we got overall score 4th

Really pleased, there were some quite nice moving horses in my section... But not all of them could jump to you see

Very happy Dancing Queen - Ren had a big feed with his big rug on to back into the muddy feild..

for once I was not worried about the jumping, it was the ruddy dressage!

PMSL! you are always like that about dressage....

Nope you wont do it again, think you were probably shocked that you managed to make it round without having a battle like you would normally do or forget the test.

it was minging today... were you indoors or outdoors ?? I jumped indoors but still got drenched.. my poor tack

big well done though, sounds like a very good day .. apart from the dressage 'mishap' !! lol

A fab well done, sounds like you've got your self a lovely new horsey then (he's quite new isn't he?).
 
i woke up looked out my window, saw a blue whale pass by and thought i am not going anywhere today!!
FANTASTIC claire!! well done!! well done on the DR score and excellent on the clear!! glad hes doing you proud hun!!
