I'm thinking about entries a couple of tests with Dressage Anywhere as I currently don't have transport.

Has anyone set a video in for it, what is feedback/results like?

Thanks in advance :)

Hi - I haven't used it but friends of mine have and they have nothing but praise for it. The comments tend to be more extensive than you would get in a comp environment, I think, and I think DA pride themselves on only using listed judges which friends have said gives them confidence that if/when they do get out there they will have more of an insight into what the judge wants...perhaps the fact that I haven't done it is why I am still trying to figure that out ;)

Really good, only done a few tests but useful feedback from list 1/2 judges... The level I ride at, I wouldn't normally ever be assessed by such senior judges. Feedback was friendly but with plenty of pointers on what we needed to be working on. Now you've mentioned it I really should think about doing another one.

I too have thought about entering but have never got around to it. Sounds like the feedback you get is much more beneficial, but I don't know. It's just a bit like, all dressed up with nowhere to go.

I think I'll give it a go. The entry fees are between £11 and £20 which I find quite reasonable considering how much you'd pay for entries/fuel/food etc to go to a competition.

Thanks for the help :)

I think it's brilliant, you don't have to dress up! Plus the comments are really helpful. Give it go :)

I've done quite a few dressage anywhere tests and am a huge fan! I find the comments really helpful and positive and really enjoy riding the tests with less pressure than a competition! There are lots of great prizes on offer too!

Tempted to give it a go. I'm not into dressage comps but do enjoy schooling ! Nice way to set yourself a challenge, see how you're doing and get some feedback without plaiting n travelling etc

I've done a few tests and it was really good fun. A nice way of keeping yourself motivated with your training even if you can't go out to compete and the comments were helpful and accurate.

Yes I have won a couple of classes. You either get a money prize or a higher prize in a voucher for future entries (very easy to use - indeed the whole website is very easy to use).

We've registered but not done a test yet. Well, I filmed one for the daughter, took us a few attempts to get it mastered then realised she wasn't wearing gloves & the entries closed that day ;) we'll be trying again this week! x

brilliant - have been doing classes for over a year. its great to compete internationally too - and without leaving the yard!!!! another site is interdressage and it is brilliant too as they have a range of classes including showing and jumping.

Hi Everyone!

I'm a South African dressage rider and we compete regularly on Dressage Anywhere. Our riders have won money (used it as vouchers for more entries) and rosettes! Dressage Anywhere does a lot of effort to make sure you get your rosettes and it is the best thing ever to finally receive them in the post.

We have also done the team challenge before (twice) and have won twice before! Our first price for the team was training CD's and we have won some training DVD's as well (Still waiting for those in the post)

The comments are great and very constructive. It helps a lot for show preparations. Our South African tests are different to the BD tests and I have to add that we enjoy the BD test a LOT! It really follows the training scales and are such nice and fluent tests to ride.

The technology we have today opens so many doors! Use it to your advantage as much as possible!

I love DA and have never looked back!

Yes, you need to have boots on so that the judges can see the video wasn't recorded at a show. You also need sound so that the judges can hear no one coached the rider from the side.

You don't need a fancy bridle unless the new one is for functional purposes.

We like to do a whole turn out. When you and your horse looks good it makes you feel good and I tend to ride better when we look and feel all smart! :-)

Thanks for that explaination I thought we needed them but wasn't sure why N. I think the grackle is a no because the bridle has to be dressage legal and it's not for BD. Yes we will push the boat out on turnout but I won't be able to stop the geese poking their heads thru the arena fence and trying to put us off:)

You dont have to wear boots. If you arent in competition clothes it is obvious not at competition. I like to use them on some horses as highlights their legs but I dont always use them.

Sounds good. may look into this :)

Anyone know how much the entry fee is? :) can't seem to see it on the website.

Entry fees are usually about £13.50 for prelim/novice and £15.50 for ele/medium. You definitely only need boots if you are in full competition gear so don't worry about that!

I have won loads of rosettes, money, 2 equitech clothing vouchers and a nupafeed voucher :) :) There is also a rider league which has really good prizes at the end of the year.

If you have a school that is slightly over size do you have to mark out the correct size?

You actually only need boots if you’ve dressed up, ie you have plaited and you’re wearing Dressage clothes. Otherwise you can wear any normal riding clothes but your horse needs to have Dressage legal tack and you need to wear gloves and no martingale.

It’s basically BD rules without the jackets!

I love Dressage Anywhere and use it regularly as I have a youngster and I can measure our progress with it so easily.

They very kindly asked me to write a blog about my experience with my previous youngster and our Dressage journey if anyone wants to read it, it’s on there somewhere!

I use it for the children most months. It's brilliant. The people who run it are very helpful if you have any questions and reply very quickly.

I use it and love it. My mare is very early on in her dressage career and we struggle with her working over her back correctly as she had never been trained to do so before I got her. She throws a tantrum as she finds it hard so going out to competitions is not always great. DA gives us motivation to keep up training over the winter as the comments are so useful

I do the same test with DA every month as I use this as a way to identify weaknesses and measure improvement.

I struggle with motivation and time to go out and compete as for the 7 minutes of competing, you blow about 6 hours on grooming, cleaning, travelling, sitting around for the results, etc. DA has given me my competing mojo back.

The only problem that I am having is with filming. The first test judge commented that my filmer needed to stand further back from the fence. My head of my filmer (wife) is exactly the height of the top rail. She tried standing on steps, but my idiot horse objected vehemently.

We have got half way through a test before and my wife then realise that she hasn't turned the camera on to record.
