It's a RS in-house competition (with the schoolmasters this time which is particularly exciting, although I am with a steadier mount than the lovely Adv. Med. veteran I had been riding. A better combo for where I'm at and still plenty good enough for the humble Intro test I'll be doing! They have said dress smart but of course it's not strict rules so it doesn't matter as such. I would just quite like to look the part and the coach's husband takes some really fabulous photos so I want to look good in them
Currently I have black long boots, black gloves, black peaked hat, 'mushroom' colour breeches (a sort of greyish brown), white stock collar sports t-shirt, and a black/very dark navy jacket (Pikeur, £15 on Vinted, well pleased with that!)
Questions are: Does it look weird to have stock collar with no stock? Could I substitute out the jacket for a tweed one? (I like the one I have, I just quite like the tweed look too and enjoy the bargain hunting on Vinted!) If I go for tweed, would a navy shirt underneath look better?
The breeches technically aren't light coloured, they're not really dark either, but unless that is compulsory I'm not going there having tried a few times to find non see-through ones. Although I haven't tried out the red pants theory (apparently red pants don't show up under white trousers, my OH gleefully demo'd this for me in one of the pairs of breeches I bought but I never tried it out myself) so if that works I guess I could go with those
