Hello everyone
So I did a dressage yesterday and they’ve just put the full class results up and it looks like I got the exact same marks as the person above me but in collective marks although the same, in brackets mine says 5.5 and the one above is 6.5 - I don’t understand where these marks have come from!
In collective marks, I got 7.0, 6.0, 6.5 and 6.5 which makes 39, the exact same as the person above me so I don’t really get where the 5.5 comes from?
I’ve attached a screenshot, mine is where is says Lilly in what would be 7th place

Did you get a 5.5 somewhere in test?
Very strange as should both be 6th but seems they have decided to split you on a specific.movement where you scored 5.5 vs. 6.5 for other rider. Haven't seen this before and do a lot of scoring!

It used to be if collective marks were equal then it went to the freewalk mark. If this was unaffiliated then maybe they have still used that old rule.

Yep, I don’t think this is a BD rule but I’ve had competitions where this has been used

I had the same thing some years ago at affiliiated BD which cost me first place. Same score and collective marks for two of us but as I got the lower score for free walk and they placed me second (which was annoying as it was in the days when you needed to win two classes to qualify for the Regionals). When I queried it with the show secretary they just shrugged and basically said that that was how it was. When I got home I checked the rule book and there was nothing in it about referring to the free walk mark with a tie so it was a very old rule.

It seems like a good rule though, to me, anyhow.

ETA: I'm referring to lizziebell's post of: It used to be if collective marks were equal then it went to the freewalk mark. If this was unaffiliated then maybe they have still used that old rule.

I didn't realise it no longer went to the free walk mark so trhanks for the post.
I always thought it was sensible to go back to the next double-points figure (unless that's also changed?)
