I'm a total newbie to the world of competing so apologies for what may be a bit of a simple question.

I've got a Dublin Windsor show shirt (https://www.dublinclothing.co.uk/products/competition-clothing/dublin-winsor-show-shirt)

Do I still need to wear a stock? Any recommendations are welcome! It's only an unaffiliated intro test at my yard so super informal but this is the first time I've been in a position to compete, let alone with my own horse!

TIA x

As it's a small, informal show you could wear pretty much what you like as long as it's neat and comfortable. If it was me I'd wear a stock tie rather than the American-style shirt, but then I am a bit of a DD (dressage diva) myself :-)

I competed for the first time ever this summer, at my RS unaffiliated. For Intro B I wore an ordinary white shirt with a black tie, for Intro A a show shirt like yours with a pre-tied stock and a tie pin from Shires Equestrian (I knew I'd be too nervous to fiddle about with a self-tie stock on the morning). Good luck! I hope you do well!

Yes you should wear a stock with that shirt for dressage, but a local, low level event probably won’t be too bothered if you do or not!

Oh absolutely, I'm going to be all fingers and thumbs so my stuff is already deep cleaned so I only need to do a quick tack wipe down in the morning.

Thanks everyone! :)

I have that shirt! If it's the one I'm thinking of it also came with a fiddly piece to go over the collar, vicar's collar style, which I binned. Anyway I used to wear it for BD with no stock and no one ever complained. BD rules say american collar look is fine so I'd wear with confidence as is :)
