No one seems to be able to enlighten me.
Why aren't dressage girths just like GP girths in that they don't buckle up under the saddle flap - oh hold on - I might be answering my own question!!!!
Is it because it means that your leg can have closer contact to the horse?
I'm asking because someone has offered me a dressage girth that comes up to meet the saddle flaps (it doesn't go under them). My old girth stops short and shows the usual few inches of girth strap before the flaps start. Is this gap necessary and if so why?
Any explanations most welcome.
