but not sure where to get a nice, reasonably priced girth from....?! Also recommendations for dressage squares? Like the look of the Premier equine ones, but would like a darker colour for eveyday....

Am keen to hear some answers to. Wintec have a new suede like dressage girth out that seems really nice and a good price, it will be my next buy so can let you know about that!

oooh lovely will be expecting some ridden pics in it

he will look a posh boy!!

yep it is a bit pricey....maybe derby house or somthing do their own leather make...their stuff seems quite gd and i would imagine it would be slightly cheaper?

I've got a Prestige leather and also a Sabre one both of which are lovely. Sabre one I bought new, Prestige one came off ebay, so might be worth keeping an eye out there?

If you want a non leather one, the Keiffer neoprene one's are very nice and about £35?

I've got the WOW girth which I like, otherwise I'd get on ebay for an amerigo or albion.
R & R country- saddlers near us- has kieffer leather ones for £35 on special purchase, they have a website, or maybe you could ring them?
Also, I saw the treadstone 'comfort' (Ithink) at a show, and thought that was very soft for the money. I think they are aboout £50. I think derby house sell them.

i had our local saddler make one as i couldn't find a leather one short enough for my boy (its only 16 inches long lol) cost £45 and is 4 years old and looks like new!

I have an albion and really like it. Its easy to clean and fits really nicely. My YO had a sabre one which rubbed her TB so bought an albion which was much better. A friend of mine had an amerigo which used to catch on the shoulder even though it was fitted properly.

Ive got a wow zig zag girth too!! Lovely! Doesnt dig in to armpit- horse's- not mine!! I quite like the Sue carson girths, they're cheaper and very soft. Plus they have slits for girth straps to go through to stop girth moving forward at each end. I havent used one though!

Hmm, thanks everyone, i need a wide soft one, was looking at the wintecs, but am a sucker for leather, easier to clean for me since I have a ban on horsey things in washing machine... and feel thats the only way to get synthetic ones truly clean.....

Not too bothered about zigzag ones, as his girth sits quite far back from his elbows... would prefer a wide one though...
