I’m at the end of my tether looking for a girth for my fussy mare after buying a lovely new dressage saddle with ridiculously short straps.
I need a shaped girth that doesn’t have any seams or lips underneath, no sheepskin and she hates fairfaxes, prolites, Equi-softs and string girths.
Also it needs to be 34’ in black.
Can anyone please help with what is so far proving to be almost impossible 😩
 
Have you looked at the H-girth by WOW? The pad goes down the belly rather than across. Spreads the pressure much more and is really good for keeping saddles in place, especially on horses with a forward girth groove. Only girth that works for my mare!
 
I found an ordinary wintec girth as long as possible stopped any rubbing. It is done up to about 1" under saddle flaps both sides. A shorter girth rubbed - so the short girth straps may not be an issue

Agree with this I opted for normal gp girth straps as my horse never seemed as comfortable in a short girth, some don't it so much depends on how they are built.

I’m just reluctant to give the saddle back as we are in the swing of things now so wouldn’t want to be without my saddle for the 3 week turnaround it would take 😩

We currently use an elastic wintec girth unfortunately the straight shape of them rubs her elbows now that the girth straps are shorter and the seam underneath on the shaped chafeless one drove her nuts but thank you

The short straps are quite likely a result of biometric testing which has shown that girths should be buckled as close to the bottom of the saddle flap as possible. I cut my girth straps shorter these days.

I would love for one of these to work as would save me a fortune unfortunately she wouldn’t tolerate the outer seam on the underside but thank you

This is intriguing, a very different shape and I’m keen to try one out thank you
