hey everyone,

I'm badly needing a new dressage instructor at the moment, as unfortunately my instructor has relocated to somewhere in england and is only back up this way once a month, and one a month just doesnt keep Taz and I ticking over and keeping everything how it should be, mainly due to the fact that I lose all focus.

I'm liveried in Edinburgh, and i'm happy to travel for about an hour to get a lesson once a fortnight, however would much rather that the instructor would travel, as then i don't have to make sure mum can take me, and drag the two sisters along as well. I really need an instructor who can explain things really simple and straight to the point, just cerian isn't up enough at the moment and when she is i can only get one or two lessons over the time that she is here, and i really need the information topped up once a fortnight or once a week.

Sorry this is so long winded :S, any suggestions will be greatly appreciated :D

Hey Jo Barry and Lauren o'Hagen are near you. Both very good reputations. I know Lauren will travel to you, i would set up link via post but i'm rubbish at this on ancient laptop but if you google her her contact details are on her website. Good luck, hope thats some use :)

thanks, ive heard very good things about Lauren one of the girls at my yard is trying to get her to come up to teach at our yard once a fortnight for four of us, only problem is they can only do weekends so may have to contact her myself, i will look in to the others too though :)

Lauren has judged at our RC dressage shows, she's really nice and always brings her own scribe! I've never had a lesson from her but have heard she's good.

Linda Penman is fab, i have been having lessons from her for years with different horses and has helped me loads. She teaches at the snec lots so great for the winter and also does lessons at hers which is next door to snec, also travels. Pm if you want details :) :)

Another vote for Linda Penman :) She is great at explaining things and really works with you and your horse to get the best out of you both.

Jo Barry is very good and will travel to you. Or her school is an easy half hour or so drive (onto bypass than off onto the A71) and her school is amazing. She's £30 for 45min (at her own place, not sure about when she travels) and you usually get an hour. Website here

thanks everyone, linda penman teaches at my yard once a week so it may be worth trying to get a lesson with her when she's there on a tuesday afternoon, if i can be fitted in. I really just need someone who'll keep my head out of the clouds tbh lol

I've been getting Lauren since she came up into the area and she made Bob the Cob into a Dressage Diva.:) She is really accommodating to fit around you and will travel. She takes mine for Boot Camp every once in a while too as he and I don't see the point some days in the flatwork!!
I can PM you her number.

i've managed to squeeze myself in for a lesson with lauren the next time she is at hodges farm, which is about the middle of august i think, and am going to book a lesson for two weeks with linda, unfortunately im very spoilt with my current instructor cerian, as she is only £20 an hour :D which is why i can afford to get a decent amount with her and she is amazing she's turned taz from a donkey into a horse!
