Hi, how does the dressage judge grading go? Cause can you just get lower level judges and then BD judges, how does it work? My last test, the judge was grade C so whats that??

Anyone can judge unaffiliated classes providing the organisers thinks they are knowledgable enough or if they are desperate.

BD have a trainee list, trainees are not yet official BD judges but are undergoing training. When a trainee takes their first exam they can either - fail, get on list 6 (able to judge affiliated Prelim) or go on list 5 (able to judge Novice) or if they have ridden at advanced (I think) or above/professional riders they can apply to go on list 4 (go to elementary testing). Then if they pass they can judge there relevant level of affiliated classes. Lists go from 6 to 1 - 1 being the highest level judge

Yes, a client once asked me the same question re. on the sheet it says 'Judges Position.....C'

It literally means that the judge was at C, which may seem obvious except that at Champs you will have more than one judge, so their position may be E, for example.

Haha, im having a blonde moment then duh....I only glanced at sheet and saw that, should have read it properly lol. Ok, so where would I find out if my judge was a BD judge or not?
