I usually ride in a dutch gag on the ring just down from the snaffle for flatwork, and the bottom one for jumping. For dressage we use an eggbutt snaffle, but have tried all the variations possible, I still have no brakes. Any ideas what to try next?

I ride my mare in a Hanging Cheek, she's quite forward especially over jumps but the Hanging Cheek does give me some more brakes in the dressage.

I second the hanging cheek! I was advised by a friend (who's pony was also forward and very strong) to try a hanging cheek french link. My girl's a rocket and I had serious doubts, but she absolutely loved it and I haven't looked back since! :)
