Several people have suggested I try doing some flatwork on my lad in a rubber straight bar snaffle, as he backs off the contact even from a KK lozenge snaffle, and every other bit i have tried! But could i then use this when I went to do a dressage test or would that not be permitted? I have bought a cheap one, just a straight piece of rubber and loose rings, to give it a try, but could go and get a happy mouth or similar if it works?
Thanks
Emma

The plain black rubber bits are fine.

Be careful with the Happy Mouth type though as the ones with "knobbles" are not permitted. The mouthpiece must be smooth.
