Now dressage at my yarc used to be very very casual, there now beginning to step up, so we actually need to start following dressage rules. This means I will have to ditch my beloved loose ring waterford

pickle really likes this bit, and is not keen on bits with a nutcracker type of action such as just a plain eggbutt snaffle, he goes nicely in his waterford, any alternatives welcomes, just want ideas on what to get on trial

Thanks

(SORRY for ultra long wittering post!)

What about a loose ring french link (or lozenge) snaffle? Probably the most mobile bit you'll find that's dressage legal and there's no nutcracker action. A thin mouthpiece gives a bit more control and less for the horse to lean on. That's what I have for Shad and she doesn't like anything with eggbutt cheeks.
