Hi

Have not posted for a while as have not been up to much but did the eventers dressage yesterday, warm up in the strong winds

but thankfully indoors for the tests.

First test was PN110 felt rather tense and was aware she was taking more notice of the noise outside from the wind and came away with a score of 61.5% and one 8 for the halt by the judge

, walk was usuall jogging, still for Saf was very pleased.

Second test was I136 in a mixed class with a novice test highest % to win, think I was the only one attempting the Intermediate test

Anyway gave the double bridle a go and although I know it was a test with improvements to be made we managed a 58.9% and came 5th overall

Know I should be pleased we qualified for the final but have just seen the test and it is an Advanced test A140

Earlier classes 1 to 4 were busy but not class 5, think it was too close to crimbo for many people was few W's. Are you local then?

I was given quite a good tip for the walk with F as he was a bugger for jogging. Walk across a diagonal and as soon as the walk tenses walk a tiny (I mean 2m diameter max) circle, first left then right really insisting they take the contact. And I was told to go out and do tests and really ride the walk, not hold my breath and try not to touch his mouth or sides etc! Well done anyway. If you can do the movements in an Intermedaite test there's no reason why you shouldn't manage 140, it doesn't have the changes in it, it's just everything comes up a bit quicker, and you just do your travers on a diagonal instead!

Thank TE

Will defo give the walk exercise a try on the first test very nearly got to the marker but as soon as picked up the reins she jogged and in the second test extended walk she jogged at least 3 times or was about too

Got a 5 for the first travers and 7 for the second which left much softer.

Not too local but love Merrist Wood as a venue so don't mind the 1hr journey to get there. Good luck for the final. I used to have the same problem with the walk, just as I picked the reins up but just try and do outside rein first, very slowly and whilst picking up the reins, half halt with my seat. Good luck and well done for being brave and giving it a shot!
