Today Madmare came over, those of you who dont know M, she has a horse who is a year older than Snoopy and who shares the same sire.
So basically M rides snoopys half brother
and they are bearly 10 miles apart!
Anyway, M had been kind enough to come over and help me with my flat work. I have had snoop nearly 7 months now, and havent as yet had ANY flat lessons on him, let alone done a dressage test....
So i hopped on and Snoop was a pig and wouldnt leave the yard arghh! worse than hes been all week, but still only lasted bearly a minute! but still....
Its a tad breezy not that normally worries him, but hes quite onward (perhaps cos i jumped him last night
)
We are going at 95 mph in our trot, but canter was better. M was impressed with the little guys canter
So i run through my test, total disaster! i can safely say today was the worst piece of flatwork we have ever done, he was running out of his shoulder and i was just riding like a pleb!
M had a sit on, and WOW is all i can say, she got the measure of him immediately, she too said *gosh hes an opionated little watsit* and although he tried but failed to have a little spat he then worked amazingly well.
So now quite possibly he could be a dressage horse
M has agreed to come and help me now with my flat work YAY and perhaps have the odd less with a GP rider at her yard once a fortnight (well when i can afford it).
Shame that tomorrow we are off having a jumping lesson with Nigel Taylor because we will probably undo all the good work M put in.
Here are some pictures of M showing us how it should be done....
Ooo and found something interesting today... M was actually a YR show jumper in Ireland!! and jumped round the millstreet derby! how cool is that! but now has turned her hand to dressage. Next time we will get pics of the two Polansky brothers together
