Hi all, just a quick question for you?
I am currently doing unaff dressage with my youngster, we are doing the intro's (walk/trot) and doing very well in them, i feel it's time to move on to the next level.
His canter work is coming on a treat, so i think we should step it up a bit. What's the next easy class with a couple of canters in it for us to do?

Sorry for my numpyyness!

Thanks in advance
Kate x:)

Hi guys, thanks for your replies, I have just had a look at prelim 7 on youtube, and you are right, it looks like the perfect test to move up to:D
I'll look forward to practicing it at the weekend

Definitely the lower Prelim numbers; also check if your local RC holds any transition classes "have a go Prelim" and things like that ... One not too far from be has invented their own class called "Intro to Canter" with Prelim level walk and trot movements, but more lenient canter movements :)

Any of the prelims except for Prelim 10. I really don't like the canter across the diagonal to trot at the quarter marker for a young horse.

Don't be afraid of the large arena tests - they do give you more space and I generally find them easier to ride.

I like Prelim 7 & 18 as well. I don't like Prelim 4 or 1 for some reason! YouTube is a brilliant place to watch them and learn them, i always do that before a show. Good luck :D
