Dressage People - Presentation

Do you wear earings and makeup for your tests or do you just your jacket and stock. I often dont go home after mucking out etc and travelling to a show and only have a trailer but wondered if most do or not?

i always put on my make up and wear earrings for dressage-but then i am kind of like that anyway! but some people dont-i guess it is just your own preference!

i hardly ever wear make-up, def not for riding - always end up a sweaty mess - would look even worse if i plastered myself in make-up and quite sure it wouldn't improve my scores!

yes i agree i dont think it is really something that makes any difference to scores!

if i have time i clean my face, and i have even been known to put a bit of lipstick on. never earrings, as i don't think it's safe wearing them around horses. i think a big smile and looking as if you're enjoying yourself is a lot more worthwhile than make-up, tbh.

I wear my pearl studs (if I remember them). Don't usually wear makeup because by the time I've plaited up, groomed, loaded up horse and stuff, driven the lorry, etc, it has all been wiped off anyway.

I always wear make-up for a comp - I'm really pale and would look like a corpse without it especially wearing navy and white!!!

How do you people manage MAKEUP on a comp day???

I have enough trouble getting my horse bathed and plaited... (fidgety grey) Not to mention trying to find my gloves / lorry keys / the right test / discover at the last minute that I've still got my jumping flaps on my WOW etc etc etc...

(But then I don't 'do' makeup normally either - I prefer to scare people with my real face...)

Sorry!!! I do make-up!!!! Wet wipes to get rid of grime, Good ole Waterproof mascara the night before!!! and yep, lipstick a must... only cause I will get chap lips otherwise!! Earings, yup, nosering yup, lipring yup, then off I go!!! I must admit I do this on the journey... cant drive a HGV box "yet!" so hubby/friend drives... ensuring I do lippie when we are not going over bumps!!!... although it may look like I have put it on then!!! Just makes me feel better........ I spend sooooooo much time making my horse look smart etc... I feel in my Opinion I should too!! It only takes me 10 mins so not that much effort!

I always wear make-up when i am showing the dogs but dont ever seem to wear it when competing the horsesm always have lip balm but never make up, never even thought about putting some on but then again there is no one to impress!

Yup, when im competing, Full make up.
I remember Bex, Harri and I being dragged into our trainers lorry at Somerford PL, and told we looked like death, and must put more make up on! He would let us leave until we looked respectablle enough for photographs! For some reason Hen was never dragged in too!

Also where pearls in my ear, and Pikeur Jacket, Breeches etc. Its all about the way you look in this game!

I always put on makeup and earings (pearls) before test - but i wear makeup all the time anyways so it just what i do normally! I however dont wear loads, just a little foundation and some mascara - i hate seeing people over made up!

I never used to but I have for about the last year. I think if you spend all that time getting your horse smart then why leave yourself out? For me if Molly looks smart and I look and feel smart then I feel more confident. I guess though if you are a person that never wears make up it would just make you feel awkward.

Always have diamond stud earings in so I just leave those in, I do try and put some makeup on but usually I have just mucked out so don't always bother. I didn't used to when I was showing either unless it was an evening performance. *note to self, must make more of an effort*

I don't wear make up but then I rarely wear make up anyway. Don't have my ears pierced so don't wear earrings eithers.

Small diamond studs and a little foundation and mascara for me.

I always end up purple in the face anyway and can't stand the feel of foundation so put a bit of fake tan on before leaving the house so not deathly pale and that's it.

I used to wear earings but now banned from wearing them at work so cant be bothered putting them in/out all the time so W has to wear the bling!
