Dressage People

Sorry - a rather random question, but one that has got me thinking....

Just a curious question really..............but why do people have dressage readers? What are the reasons for having a reader?

I’ve never ever used one; so just wondering why some people do?

Cheers

Because I always go wrong in my tests

simply because they can't remember the test and have someone reading it just in case they forget so they don't go wrong! personally i'm lucky that I remember tests quite easily and have been known to do 3 different tests within an hour without a caller but most can't. If your doing one test most can learn in advance but if doing 2 or more on a day they can get quite confusing and merge together if fairly simpler so a caller will prevent them (most of the time going wrong)

Doesn't always work though remember doing an important pony test at addington with a caller, i rode up centre line was told to track right and proceeded to go left whoops!!

To allow me more time to think on pony, also when they are young it can settle them more as its like someone teaching / hubby chatting when i ride at home and seems to settle them. I always know my test but it can help both of us sometimes

I ALWAYS have a caller.

I can learn a test really well but as soon as i get into the arena I blank.

Not sure why, its not nerves but I do worry about going wrong.

Mind you, I even go wrong with a caller sometimes.
