Hopefully I'll be doing some unaffilated dressage sometime soon, and was wondering what I am meant to wear for it.
I'm not in the pony club, and am 12 (if that makes any difference

I've got a navy jacket and some cream/beige jods, although I might buy some white when I go to robinsons.

So what, ideally, should I wear? x

well i wear, a black jacket but navy is fine too, with matching colour hat/ hat silk, gloves-black is best at prelim level as you dont want any bad habits showing up!, white stock shirt n matching stock, white jods/breeches, gaiters n matching boots.

navy/black/tweed jacket and matching hat (either velvet or skull cap with silk), beige or white jods/breeches, shirt and tie or shirt and stock, probably jod boots at your age, although long boots fine as well. You can carry a schooling whip if you want and you must wear gloves. Your pony needs a saddle, numnah/saddlecloth (any colour, although white or black is normal) and a bridle with no martingale and no brushing boots or anything like that.

normal one would be fine i think, although never seen anyone carrying one as you cant exactly put your reins in one hand and give them a smack in the middle of a test, so it would be a bit redundant.

my horse is like that - i rarely need to use the whip, but he's a sod if i havent' got it. short whip would be fine if you just need to carry something.

a horrible white circular collar that fastens round your neck - they're ok for show-jumping, but look wrong in dressage - stock or shirt and tie is best.
