Dressage Plaits.

We are going to an unaffiliated dressage championship at the weekend and just thought it would be nice to have a go at doing those dressage plaits with the white tape round - are these considered a bit naff now though and if not how do I go about doing them?

they are now not used that much but people still do !!

just pl;ait and roll the plaits as normal then you buy the special tape from the tack shop cut a bit off and rap it round !!

you can buy the white tape from a tack shop. You just plait as normal, then wrap the tape around the plait and cut it where you want.

No, Weezy thanks for your honesty - that was what I was wanting to know, if people think they are indeed naff! And thank you PG and Stacey, I was just wondering if it was that simple or if there was some special way they were done.

I'm afraid that I am with Weezy on this. They are naff.

Big puffy button plaits are much more "in" now LOL!

You could just try using a white plaiting band instead? a little less naff, but still enhance the appearance of the neck...

nope very simple apart from get someone to give you the tape already cut otherwise it sticks around my fingers !!

got to plait mum and baby tomorrow and for gradings then you have to use it !!! great what fun !!

The tape has gone out of fashion really, white band - apparently, are the thing to use.

I just stick to good old plaits!

I have totally missed out on this 'big plaits' business... I used to get them by accident sometimes if I'd been lazy about mane pulling... Can anyone post a picture? Don't want my horse being laughed at by the other horses cos I've done un-cool plaits...
