Dressage Query - How Long is 1 Horses length

As it says in the title, am doing an unaffilliated dressage on BH Monday and test is Novice 25. Its says over X transition to walk (1 horse lenght) then proceed in working trot. Can anyone give me an idea how many strides of walk I should be aiming for.

2-5 steps

Depending on the size of you horse, usually 3 or 4 is fine, 5 would be the max.

Thanks you both for taking time to reply, horse is 16.1 so will aim for 3 or 4 steps. Only done a couple of Novices and when I entered was a test I'd done before but its now changed to the N25 which to be honest looks a bit scary!

My boy is 16'3 and long and i always go for 4.
