I just bought a pair of inside grip dressage reins and was surprised to see martingale stoppers on them! Do I remove them for dressage or is there no need? Will pick all your brains again while im here - dont like to pull horses tail and was wondering is it correct to plait an unpulled tail for dressage or can I leave it 'au natural' (sp)??? thanks

Take them off

Perfectly acceptable to plait an unpulled tail, IMO looks better than an unpulled tail

I would remove the stoppers yes, I don't know why they are put on them but they always are!!

You can pull or plait your horses tail...I used to keep Dutchie's tail trimmed at the end and clip the top sides only of the tail to make it lie nicely...I wouldn't pull it but it is up to you.

depends on how thick your horses tail... my tb x id has a tail like a bog brush... its nigh on impossible to plait!

Thanks folks, keep on intending to get one of those tail rakes, might just do it, I just thought that one didnt plait tails for dressage and wasnt sure what to do with an unpulled one, think i'll have to pull it. I'll also whip those stoppers off!!! Thanks again
