So off we went for the first outing in the lorry - hats off to the_watcher for driving it (after experiencing parking it and a near miss with a trailer I never want to drive it again).
We had entered a walk and trot test and a prelim.
He travelled really well and despite shouting at anything that would listen once we had arrived he was quite settled.
The warm up for the intro was a bit short and he wasnt really listening but as it was only walk and trot I wasnt too concerned. Anyway, the white boards were scary, the car was scary, the mirrors were scary and the people watching may have had treats! Overall he went quite well for his first go and I was pleased to get it out of the way. The judges obviously adored him and we came.....3rd on 68% - yay
For the prelim my main concern was canter as I have been having difficulty on the right lead but I went in with the attidue of if he canters in the right place then I am not worried if on the correct lead or not. We had a bit of a wobbly moment when we went in as something caught his attention at a white board and he had a nice big buck but it kinda switched him on a bit and we had not too bad a test though he broke into trot when we were supposed to be cantering so we didnt get placed but came 8th overall and still scored 63.6
I am chuffed to bits, he was an absolute star and proof that little hairy coblets can do dressage!
