Hello all,

Sorry for the delay, yesterday was a very busy day!

Firstly massive well done to Trish and George, what a fantastic achievement!

My day wasn't so good, but never mind.

Warm up was pretty hectic (pics are from the warm up) as there were some ponies flying about in the field next to the school. Went in and did prelim 7. Couldn't get the lazy moo to canter, so got 54%. I was very nervous and also stopped half way through the test and tried to retire but the judge wouldn't let me!

Anyway, felt much more relaxed in the second test prelim 18. Still couldn't get the canter, but I felt that the walk and trot were much more relaxed and forward but we got an awful score of 47.1

oh dear that is a shame, and I was sending you good {{vibes}} honest, but still really good for you having a go. I love the way the judge wouldn't let you retire! I had my bach flower rescue remedy with me yesterday and it really helped to calm the jitters a bit, maybe give it a go. I have to say that your mare is really gorgeous by the way and you both look great.

its all good experience, my first test was simular to yours canter came but only briefly and on the wrong leg got something like 51% recently did another and got 69% so things do improve I promise

oh hun try not to get to down about this - it's all a learning curve

what is she like at home? Is she a lazy moo there? perhaps thats next on the schooling programme! 'moving off your leg!'

my first even dressage test was a disaster - i rode a horse called jay that was at Duchy College when I was there. It was intergroup dressage and i don't even know why I picked to ride jay - i never had, but i thought ht looked 'nice'.

What a shame!! She looks lovely in the warm up!!

The more you get out and about the easier it will become and the nerves will hopefully get less (or at least easier to deal with).

I can't even remember my early tests which suggests to me they were shocking as i always remember the good ones!

I agree with Jenbleep take the positives and work on the negatives!!

Well done for getting her to work well in the warm up with ponies outside (if i was in there on Bea i would have ended up joining them!)

Well done for going and doing both tests and not retiring!! (i didn't get to bring Bea up to yours for a lesson with Stuart as my mum wouldn't drive the trailer when it was windy, so i just went up and watched 2 of my friends have their lessons!)

Have you got another one to aim for?

Hi Bea,

I think we inadvertently met yesterday. I was loading up when you guys arrived. I should have introduced myself, I thought I recognised you!

I'm hoping the more we get out the easier it will be. Spurs are going to be tried tomorrow I think - she's such a lazy moo in the canter! Might ask charlotte to have a sit on her too.

It was quite windy - the lorry felt very wobbily ont he way to Swarland.

I thought that was you, but i didn't want to get in the way as i could see you were busy getting ready loading up etc! Plus i'm rather shy!

It will get easier the more you get out and i am hoping the same thing happens with me (after having a break from horses have lost most of my bottle!!).

Sounds like spurs may be a good idea. You are more than welcome to some of Bea's energy if you like, she has for too much, mostly in canter! May be worth getting Charlotte to sit on, i imagine she can work some magic!

It was windier at HP so by the time we got up to yours i was annoyed as it would have been fine to take the trailer out, but never mind Stuart is back up next month and i have plenty of other things planned! i will be back up to yours this week for another lesson. Havn't been able to since last time as i had a lesson with Kirstie Parrish last week and was supposed to have the one with Stuart and i already have 2 lessons a week at HP so couldn't afford another one with Charlotte.

I will let you know when i am next up.
