Can anyone suggest some saddles I could try???! I am reaching the point of despair as my current 17" Passier Corona doesn't fit my horse anymore or me (the seat comes up pretty big for a 17") I love my Wintec Isabell but that doesn't seem to fit my horse either.

Therefore had the saddler up today and he reckoned I may be better in a 17.5" due to the length of my legs. I am 5'4" and quite petite, and the problem I'm finding is my legs don't seem to make decent contact with the knee rolls on a lot of saddles (hence why I loved my Wintec! Moveable knee blocks) I have tried:

- Bates Innova - hated the knee blocks!!! Way too big
- several different Albions in 17" and 17.5" - I find they feel quite wide and the knee rolls don't seem to offer me much support as they don't feel in the right position
- Jaguar - not keen on them full stop. Nice to look at though!

Saddler is coming back with a different Passier (Hubertus), Amerigo, Bates Isabell and Henig. I feel like I'm being really picky and wasting his time so would be grateful if anyone's had the same problem and has any recommendations!!! At the moment I feel like giving up and just buying an old style flat saddle with minimal knee rolls! Thank you.

I love my kiefer, but then i have one with big knee rolls lol. I hate passiers with a passion, and i would touch deuvcoux with a 12 foot barge pole!!!

albions are nice, as are stubbens, but really do love my kiefer

Have you thought about the new ideal impala? I have trouble with knee blocks and tried quite a few saddles, and this one suited me so I would recommend trying it. Good luck

i have an ideal suzannah which i love-nice big knee rolls and very comfy-prefer to my albion GP. ideal do same version of the suzannah designed for the more petite rider-its called the roella-i think? have a look on their website!!

I'm saving up for a Vega dressage saddle next

Had a look at one just before I bought my bates, but really needed something adjustable :/ Loved the shape, it was very comfortable, looks good, and I also liked the fact that you can get one with only thigh blocks rather than knee rolls... I found that much better really

Also tried the Bates Innova... ugh, it's awful! I couldn't actually sit in a way that put my knees anywhere near the knee blocks O.o And I couldn't imagine one on my narrow TB - it's just way too much saddle, they look so huge!

Thank you everyone for your replies, that's given me a bit more hope! Just been having a look at the Ideal website. I'm just no good at being patient, I want a saddle now!!!

I love my Fhoenix Vogue Dressage Saddle - It is really comfy as has a memory foam seat, moveable knee blocks and the best bit is that it should always fit my horse as it is a soft tree saddle so I shouldn't need to have it reflocked every 6 months as he changes shape! It is also made of really soft leather and so I would imagine that you would get good feel through the leather if you were struggling with the flap length (although I have long legs so don't know for sure) - I think you can also get shorter flaps as well if you needed to.
