Hi everyone, I have a 14.2hh Appaloosa X Andalusian with a flat back and low withers, and is a wide width. He currently has a Kent and Masters S-series Jumping saddle which fits well. We know he also fits thorowgood and wintec saddles. the main problem we have with him, is that dressage saddle trees tend to be far too curved. We tried him in my friends kent and masters dressage saddle which fitted well, but unfortunately they only make them in black..
So my question is, does anybody know of good makes for wide flat backed horses, that also make dressage saddles in brown? an impossible task i know, but worth a try! :)

My KWPN has a Walsall Saddle Company dressage saddle (old style). The new style did not fit. The only other ones that suited us both were Bliss ones at £3200...

After many years of saddle issues (tallyho will back me up on this haha!) for my flat weirdly shaped new forest I've just bought a dr and jump saddle company saddle. I looked at the lavinia Mitchell saddles and then rang saddle company to ask about their saddles. They invited me to their workshop in Walsall and lone behold the saddle company saddles are the same as the lavinias Mitchell saddles, but they're half the price! Same leather, same tree, slightly different flocking, same shape, made by same people, just with a diff logo! Glad I had a tour of their workshop as they also make balance saddles which are £1700+ and they're almost the same too!

Eta - how is a appy x Andalusian a warmblood?

Thanks for the help guys! and i know it isn't really but it was just the easiest way to describe his shape in the title line! just as he's not a skinny high withered thoroughbred type that many dressage saddles seem to be shaped to! haha

I would try a Jessica or Suzannah, if you know someone with one maybe they can pop it on so you can get a rough guide. I have a jessica, fits a lot of horses.
