Hiya,

I've got a standard 15hh welsh X TB, easy to fit to - who I want a dressage saddle for.

I only have around £450 to spend, so have been looking at either 2nd hand leather or the Thorowgood T6 dressage, Thorowgood T4 dressage, Wintec 500 or Wintec pro dressage?

Im liking the look of the Wintec Pro-dressage, as I could do with something that "puts me in position". Due to my GP, my leg position isn't as good as I'd like to be.

Any experiences of those saddles? Or ideas of a leather which would be good to look out for a 2nd hand of?

Thank you

I'd also be interested to hear opinions.

I've been looking at the Wintec 500 as I don't have as much to spend

, i've have a normal wintec 500 aswell but i found it didn't put you in such a good position as the isabell.

Ive loved the Isobel Werth, but it is very wasted doing nothing in the tack room - there is a pic of it on my Rodbaston post. all gullets i have going in with it!
It puts you in a lovely position and is extremely comfy! very easy to sit too and you dont slide out of position. It has really strengthened my riding through and through.

I have only ever had dressage saddles and a fair few at that Jaguar, Wow, kiefer, Frank Baines, Black Country, Black Country being the best ever but dont come across them second hand very often, however, I also have a Wintec Isabell Werth synthetic and by far of all the other saddles I have had it is second to my Black Country, I teach quite a few ladies in it as it puts them in a superb position and because it has a deep seat with a suede feel it gives them great confidence, It is fantastic to hack in as it is so comfortable. It also suits a multitude of horses shapes so for your budget I would definately say Isabell Werth every time!!!

I'm not a fan of Wintecs tbh... I have a Lovatt & Ricketts dressage saddle and I love it, I'd say you could find a secondhand one easily for under £450

Will talk to my saddler and see if he can bring an Isabell over along with any 2nd hands they've got in. Thanks for all the recommendations!
