Which ones do you all like? I have an Albion K2 and Albions fit my mare really well. I would like something that would help with my wayward lower leg

if that is possible. I only seem to have this problem in my dressage not in my GP or jumping saddle.

If you're looking for something not too pricey..........I love my Issabella Werth (sp?)
If you wear a pair of full-seat's on that saddle, then nothing can move.

I think its each to there own, I tried the Isabell Werth and felt like I was sat on a barrel, the saddle was a medium wide, The Albion did nothing for me either, ended up with a Jaguar but I dont think it gives me any support but fit the awkward short coupled horse!! but my fav and the cheapest was the Derby House Kentucky, I just loved how secure it made me feel. Liked the Keiffer and the Ideal Jessica too and the Arabian saddle co was nice. As you can see I tried loads to try and get one that fit but the ones I liked werent the right shape for my horse!

If you get the opportunity to go to one of the big 3 day'ers where there will be a large shopping village, take the opportunity to sit in as many dressage saddles as possible and talk to the fitters about what you are looking for. This will give you a good idea of what you want and whats out there. I did this last year at Badminton - sat in loads of different saddles but there was only one which made me feel I 'had died and gone to heaven'

Once you have found the one you want, hope and pray that it feels the same on your horse!

Which one was that?

I have an old Albion dressage saddle- I wouldnt be able to afford a new one and the old ones are fab. It does the job perfectly and you can pick them up for about £350

my isabelle synthetic was really comfortable but didnt do anything for my horse who developed a really weird gait in it. Now in an albion which feels really good and seem to suit my horse bu I do need to get it reflocked frequently as slips to right otherwise, but I think that might be me as always tend to tip that way and am working on this ! I think every comination is different and you just need to try stuff, I tried about the saddler brought out before I found one that fitted us both.

I would think from reading your post that it is the fact you are not used to riding in a straight cut saddle without much knee roll as you mentioned that you are ok in GP & Jumping, both these saddles had a fair knee roll that your legs can just wedge themselves against! you could try some lunge lessons without stirrups as this will allow you to sit deep but make sure you keep yourself loose and heels quite heavy (not forced down) this will teach your thigh muscles to memorise where they should stay and help with riding position in a dressage saddle. If you are thinking of buying a new Dressage saddle I would be inclined to consider one with a fairly big knee block ie albion Ultima or on a cheaper scale Isabell Werth with the big blocks attached, this will help with keeping your legs in place, however, if you are really getting into dressage and ride at a fairly high level then you may find it too restricting to the thigh. I use a Black Country Eloquence as this saddle really suits my riding unlike the Wow and Kieffer for me, its all about personal preference so if you can borrow a few to try it will be better for you so long as it suits your horse too.

Isabell saddle without a doubt i love mine to bits....is it sad that i hug her good night? my horse has learnt to NEVER touch isabell...other horses mind are very disrespectful!

I stayed very stuck to the Isabel Werth dressage saddle, (I have silly longish legs, im 5.9) I have just inherited a Barrie Swain which is the only reason Im getting rid of it - it has been an excellent saddle!

I bought a secondhand Lovatt & Ricketts dressage saddle a few months ago and I LOVE it! It really helps my position without "forcing" me if that makes sense?
