I really like my Bates Isabella, but would say you need to find a saddle which fits your horse, because it doesn't matter how good the saddle is, it won't be comfortable for you if the horses isn't comfortable. Case in point my friend rode my horse in my saddle and loved it, tried it on her horses (my saddle didn't fit her horses nearly as well) and hated it.
My husband and daughter both swapped their dressage saddles for Sue Carson ones after riding in one.
The are infinitely comfortable, adjustable with air panels and look super.
The only downside is te price, around £1500.
We got one of ours of ebay for £570.. brand new, exactly the right tree and no need to change it (tree costs £250). They do come up fairly regularly on there, just decide what model you like and wait for it.
O yes absolutly. I am thinking of an albion slk, we have tired it but as my horse is so round and short backed it seems to drown him although not too long.
Fits horse and me very well, but I think it depends alot on the person. Kieffer's are lovely saddles but I found them too long for my leg and too hard.
I've got a Wow Dressage saddle, thought they were pig ugly til I sat in one and fell in love, it's the only saddle I've ever ridden in which does not cause me back ache, they are made to fit horse and rider. I've had Passier - nice but hard, Kieffer - didn't like, Bates Isabell - v supportive but love my WOW!
I have a Stubben Scandica D, personally find that all dressage saddles are commisioned by Satan (I'm a jumper at heart) but this one is ok as it doesn't break my legs
i love my wintec isabel worth saddle. It's not leather but fits me and my horse better than even the most expensive leather ones. I think the fit to you and your horse is individual so get a saddler out and try a few - you'll know as soon as you sit on it that it's the right one. Don;t dismiss the isabel though just because it's synthetic - it's a great saddle!
i just got a wow to try for a couple of weeks today and my horse sunddenly went oh i can use my back now!!! big payout but will fit any horse and i guess they should last for years if looked after properly.
