OK probably a dim question but is there a correct arm to use when saluting at the end of a test? I've always saluted with the left (being my non- whip hand) except when eventing (ie no whip) when have used my right. But now been told I should salute with my right, holding whip in left. Does it really matter?

I don't think so although if I ever carry a whip I tend to carry it in my left just so I can salute with my right as somehow that feels more correct.

I salute with whatever hand my whip is not in and if I have no whip which ever hand comes of the reins first. I haven't really thought about it to be honest. Another reason why I don't do well at dressage

You are all right .It does not matter which hand so long as it is not the whip carrying hand. Thats the only criteria, men no longer have to remove their hats either .

I always use my right arm, just comes naturally to me. Probably because i'm right handed!
