I have a dressage competition on tuesday.
i have decided (stupidly) to attempt the novice (:-S) not realizing that i would have to do medium trot/walk/canter :-) I have since taught my horse in 30 minutes do do a reasonable medium walk and trot but i find i get the best results when i am doing sitting trot however i know i would forget to remain sitting after a canter to trot transition. so can i do my test in rising trot but do sitting trot for the medium trot phase?. This is an unaffiliated competition

Also (another bit of pointless info) I ride my horse in a market harborough for hacking out and i intend to hack there. Would i be allowed to warm up in it (we are warming up in an open field and my horse is quite highly strung) if i fully remove it for the test? i am reffering to british dressage rules here lol.

Thanks for reading!

You can't warm up in the market Harborough. Depending on the rules you will have to have it off before you are on the premises of the comeption.

Re sitting/rising - you can do either or a combination. BUT in a novice test its not generally looked upon in the best light.

Good luck, have fun and do what feels right.
