Dressage - tack etc. allowed

You may have read my post about my forthcoming walk/trot dressage test, I just wanted to check what horsey and I are allowed to wear! I am assuming that martingales, dutch gag bits, boots and whips are not allowed? Can he wear a flash noseband and loose ring myler bit? Also is he allowed to wear a numnah and does it have to be a special shape/colour - his one is a saddle shaped navy blue one. I am planning to wear a black jacket (same colour as my hat), is a shirt and black tie ok with it? Finally I have cream jodphurs but no long boots (calves too fat to find any that fit!), so will I get away with clean black half chaps and jod boots?

I know it is only a local walk/trot test but I do want to do it properly as this is half the challenge for me!

Whips should be

Snaffle bits and either cavesson, flash or drop nosebands. Navy blue numnah should be fine as should your attire. Enjoy

Just a plain white shirt then? Can't you just tell I've never been to a show!

Check the BD rules on Mylers, I don't think the loose ring is allowed (only about 3 of them are allowed). No to martingales, breastplates, boots and whips longer than a certain length.

Phew I have a loose ring myler MB02 which we have started using for flat work so that's ok. So would a conservatively coloured tie be best then? I feel like a right numpty!

Hiya,
Snaffle bridle only. You can have a flash, drop or caveson noseband.
Numnah can be square or saddle shaped & should be Black, brown, navy or white. No martingale. You can carry a whip. No boots for George.
You should wear white, cream or fawn jods. Short boots & leather chaps will be ok (you wont be the only one with boots & chaps) Your jacket sounds fine and shirt & tie will also be ok.
You'll also need a bridle number. I suggest you practice riding with it to make sure he doesn't object (none of mine ever have

)

I was under the impression that leather gaiters were fine but half chaps were not? Oh & they must be the same colour as the boots. I could be wrong....can anyone enlighten?

Yes leather chaps/ gaiters with matching boots are fine normally, as they look like long boots. They certainly would be at our shows.
