Hi guys :)

Think I'm having a bit of a funny 5 minutes so need to be certain on something!
ODE on the 14th, and the dressage test is the PC Novice Eventing Test 2013.
second movement is -
MB Working Trot
Between B&F half circle right 15 metres diameter, returning to the track at M.
MH Working Trot.

Am I right in thinking that it'd be this? -

Apart from the fact I fail at drawing semi circles?

Sorry it's on small paper in pencil...I couldn't find my pen and pad o.O

Thanks guys :)

Oh and just to clarify, if I'm doing the level 2 ODE I'm allowed a schooling whip? I read the rules and think I have it aha.
Thanks :)

I dont think so ,but stand to be corrected. Read literally. Somewhere between B and F commence a 15m half circle (which would be a much more fluid move off the track and suggests it is correct). After completing the half circle it says returning to the track at M . This says to me that you complete the half circle then continue the turn towards M and again this is a more fluid movement and hence more likely to be correct. PS ,love the note paper:)

So britestar, something more like this? Thank you :)

Mike, thank you, I think I understand it a bit more now! Aha me to thanks, it would be even nicer if my brother hadn't scribbled over most of the pages -.-

I think I understand thank you, I just can't draw ;)
I usually watch test videos but seen as its pretty new there aren't many about :/

And dont aim at M as you come off the half circle .It says returning to the track at M. You cant return to the track at M if you aim at M . So aim a bit before and as you get near ,wham bam nice use of inside leg and fluidly move onto track for M:). (But what the hell do I know about dressage:eek:)

Perfect thank you :)
You don't happen to know about schooling whips do you?;)
I'm pretty pleased with myself, just learnt my test in what, half an hour on and off...at this time of night!

Hi there. My daughter was due to do this today but sadly had to withdraw. If you begin your 15m circle a good distance beyond B ( and obviously before F) this makes your return to M less steep and gives you more time to establish the change of rein. Aim to return to the track a couple of metres before M as Mike said and you'll be in good shape for the corner and the short side. I have seen a vid on YouTube under the pony club novice eventing 2013.
Good Luck!

Thank you- I've read through the eventing rules but just wanted to be sure, I'm not the best a interpreting things aha!

Look out for the report if you're interested guys - it'll be on Rogercob seen as Barney is still being a typical giraffe I mean ex racer ;) although he did come down on the bit in trot for a little today - progress!

A whip is sometimes a mixed blessing. Short spurs are so much more accurate and effective in backing up an aid. A stick tends to make you stiff and one sided ,it distorts your riding.Chuck the blooming thing away (but as I have already said ,what the heck do I know about dressage:D)

"b) Dressage only
Whips – A whip of any length may be carried at Levels 1 – 3, but no whips are allowed at Levels 4 and 5."

So you are definitely allowed to carry a schooling whip, but as a PC member you won't be allowed to wear spurs without your DC filling out a little form for you saying you're sufficiently capable :)

What class are you doing? Daughter is in Class 6 so appears to have the same test. Remember they will do a tack check, so no bling, no jewellery, no names on saddlecloths etc, your bit is dressage legal, make sure you wear gloves and have long sleeves for Xc. If you want to wear spurs get your spur certificate from Faith (DC) you will also need to take your hat/hats to be tagged. Not sure if they check BP's too?

I don't think my spurs fit me anymore! I had little children's ones for on the Shetland once or twice - mum probably has some somewhere but I think roger will be fine with whip - he's one of those horses that you just need to carry a whip and probably not use it, rather than not carry one at all :)

Double check you can have a whip. Often you can't have one b in eventing.
Yes T that 2nd pic is correct.

I'm doing Class 2, so yes the same test :)
Think we are fine for all that, Roger would be insulted if I put any bling on him ;) and he's in a fulmer French link so all fine. Gloves - one thing I will need to be reminded of though! I will put them in the bag now so I don't forget ;)
Not sure about BPs - I've got an XC rally on Thursday, do you think they'll tag hats/bps (if needed) then or should I just take them to the course walk?
The only hat of mine that's tagged is pink so will have to have my others tagged

Will most probably see you there even if I don't realise!

You will have to take your hat to the entry tent when you collect your number, usually they won't give it to you without seeing your hat, even if it has been tagged before. Oh, don't forget your number bib and medical armband, on your arm, not leg....and long sleeves Xc!!

Oh of course I'd take my hat :)
Ok thanks!
Yes got all of them - being on the end of one of the stewards having a rant at my first XC about kids thinking its cool to have medical ARMbands on your leg, I think I'll definitely remember ;) Thanks :)

Have fun . :)

Thank you, will do :D
