Dressage tests - how do you learn them?

[ QUOTE ]
Doodling the shapes on paper with X's for halts, and different lines for the different paces.

Same as sidesaddlegirl, set up markers in the back garden and get funny looks from the neighbours - also practice the shapes on my bike on a quiet piece of road,

I ride them (on my imaginary Grand Prix horse) round my living room, and draw them on paper whilst saying the commands out loud. My work colleagues especially love the drawing/saying bit, it's a nice treat for them

I find it helps me to draw the test route on paper over and over.
Obv actually riding it helps but I also 'ride' round the living room, haha.

I sit and think about just riding it in my head - do the same with XC courses after i've walked them also - when you do it the next day it feels like you've done it loads - really helps
