Given Daft TB has not quite managed to retire yet, and currently feels quite good, I've been debating having a bash at dressage to music with him. Our RC holds unaff music tests, but the main aim would be the RoR champs.

As this would all be unaffiliated, do I still need to register with BD for the music rights (I know they used to do a music membership, but can't seem to see this anymore?), and is ANY music good to go?

Also, general freestyle/DTM advice is much appreciated! We can't do counter canter (at all - he just changes) so think we'd have to stick to novice, but he has good mediums, can do lateral work etc.

From what I can gather BD don't deal with anything to do with music for unaffiliated now. I became a club member so I could do music classes. They then changed and didn't make it well known so I carried on paying!! As above, if BRC run it they have their own licence and if thr venue has a licence you can do it.

This is good news that we probably don't have to join BD (because we're terrible at dressage!) - will just have to check re the RoR champs but hopefully they have a license for it too.

Now to find some music - 'Don't stop me now' matches his trot (and his general approach to dressage tests) perfectly but the canter is proving more difficult.
