I noticed at the dressage to music on Saturday alot of people were using songs with lyrics not just instrumentals. I didn't know this was allowed but obviously it is now ,it does make it easier to find music.
What do you think

I like riding to more current chart songs, have used classical in the past, last comp i went to everyone was using a queen song, think the poor judge got bored of hearing it

Lyrics are allowed, but sometimes they take over the instrumental parts if you get what I mean? Most judges prefer instrumentals as well

Always depends on the music though

I think it's allowed but not ideal. If your horse moves his mouth it can look really funny like he's singing along!!

While were on the subject has anybody tried finding the music library of approved tunes on the BD website, I can't even find the library let alone the tunes I'd like. Then there's the *** Dressage Divas CD rom which is another story all together.

Got lots of ideas and very frustrated.

Looked on equimusic but then it seems to link you to amazon usa to buy the music and it doesn't seem to be in download form. I am a novice with computers so has anyone else used this site. I've gone back to using my old tape hello dolly/sunrise ,sunset /money makes the world go round ,all just instrumental

Nothing in the rules about not using songs with words, but can be distracting if too over powering, and you need to make sure it is edited so doesnt finish mid-lyric.

If anyone can tell me how to put the music on Dressage Divas we'll be away. The idea is clever as you can plot the moves and it will time the test for you as well as make sure it follows a mirror pattern. You can put in your horse's BPM You're supposed to be able to load up to 8 tunes, edit them and speed them up/slow them down slightly to match your horse. You can then record the composition on a CD or your mp3 player so you can ride and practice to it

If I can only get it working it's a brilliant idea, has anyone got a teci OH who can point me the right way?

I am a complete technical halfwit and managed it, the instructions however, are rubbish and it was more by luck than anything. I think Im going to ring the makers but dont want them to realise Im a halfwit

Il try, at the bottom there are the lines where the music go and to the left there are buttons next to the lines, click on one and find the music you want

It is allowed but just in most cases it is better to use instrumental. Singing can distract from the performance and make editing the tracks difficult as you cant cut the track in the middle of a sentence. Also if you speed up or slow down the track to fit the horses bpm this would show up.

There isn't a library of approved music. You're probably thinking of the PPL Repertoire List, which lists all those companies (record labels such as EMI, Virgin, Columbia etc) whose music is registered and can be used. You'll find a link to that under Competitions/How to go Freestyle - but it won't tell you about any specific tunes.
