Went to a clinic for Dressage to music at YRC yesterday. Was a lot of fun, Mr Arnie canters to Phantom of the Opera and my fav is his trot music, we chose 'The Heat is On' from Beverly Hills Cop, absolutely perfect rhythm!

First time riding a long arena so I got lost a bit but we came up with an inventive floor plan so I am really excited about getting my video back with the music on over the top and the floor plan :D

Can recommend it to anyone, even if you don't do dressage, very cool trotting along in perfect rhythm to a song :D

I was meant to be competing in one today however had to pull out as I haven't been very well lately. Owners found another rider though and they got a first using the music I put together. So pleased for them as it would have been a waste to have put all the effort in and then not have the music used. I had Ed Sheeran's A-Team for trot, The Script's Man that can't be moved for walk and Nina Nesbit's Stay out for canter. Judges loved it apparently :)

I am SO jealous! My ultimate horsey dream is to do dressage to music. I'd love to do it to something really unexpected like a current pop song or even rap  but apparently you have to select a certain song from a list or something hehe. There's a demo on at my work soon, might book a ticket for it and get some inspiration! Although I don't think that there are any venues around here that do any competitions. Oh well :D

You can pick what you like as far as I am aware as long as it is available for public play? instructor just had and eye and an ear (some people had picked genres in advance too)

I didn't think anywhere around here did until I really looked then found one 40mins away! :D

You have to get a music license (through BD I think). As long as the track is listed you can use it. I have yet to choose a piece that I couldn't find, they have pretty much everything including rap/rock/pop ect! When I was putting my music together it was a toss up between the acoustic guitar set (which I went for) or the rock set which had Linkin Park and Story of the Year tracks :)
